LookMyIP ("we", "our", or "the site") is a free, ad-free suite of IP address and network diagnostic tools available at lookmyip.com. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for any personal information to use any tool on this site.
TL;DR
We do not store IPs you look up. We don't run ads. We don't sell data. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregate usage so we can improve the tools, and we query trusted third-party APIs (like ipinfo.io, Cloudflare DNS, AbuseIPDB) to return results you request.
1. What data we process
Your own IP address. Like every website, our servers receive the IP address of the device making the request. We use it only to return results for the lookup you performed and for standard server access logging. We do not publish or sell this data.
IPs or domains you enter as input. When you look up an address, that input is sent to our API and to upstream providers (see Section 3) to produce a result. We do not persistently store the inputs you enter.
Anonymous usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to collect aggregated, pseudonymous data such as page views, rough device/country, referrer, and click paths. We do not use this data to identify individual users.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email, phone number, or address.
- We do not require account creation.
- We do not serve advertising and do not sell or rent data to advertisers.
- We do not log or retain the IP addresses, domains, or queries you submit to the tools.
3. Third-party services
To deliver results and measure site health, LookMyIP relies on these third parties. Each has its own privacy policy, which applies when the service is invoked:
- ipinfo.io — IP geolocation, ASN and network-type data.
- Cloudflare — CDN, edge caching, DNS-over-HTTPS queries.
- Google DNS (dns.google) — secondary DNS resolution.
- OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org) — map tiles for the geolocation map.
- AbuseIPDB — IP reputation / abuse confidence scores.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate usage analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity — session-level usage analytics and heatmaps.
4. Cookies
LookMyIP itself does not set functional cookies. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies for analytics purposes. You can block these by using browser settings, privacy extensions, or your browser's Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control signal.
5. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA)
Because we do not collect personal information tied to your identity, there is typically nothing to access, rectify, or delete. If you have a specific request under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act, contact us via the Contact page.
6. Children
LookMyIP is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be indicated in the page text.
